Receipt Roulette

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: March 26, 2026

👋 Introduction

Receipt Roulette ("we," "our," or "the app") is a fun, social bill-splitting game that uses a spinning wheel to decide who pays. We built this app with your privacy as a priority. This policy explains exactly what data the app handles, what it doesn't, and how the limited data involved is used.

We believe in complete transparency. This policy is based on the actual code and behavior of the app — not generic legal boilerplate.

🎲 What the App Does

Receipt Roulette lets you enter player names and spin a roulette wheel across five game modes (Full Roulette, Chaos Split, Category Spin, Dare or Pay, and Mercy Round) to decide who pays the bill. The app uses haptic feedback for the spinning wheel and displays confetti animations when a winner is chosen.

The app is free to use with occasional interstitial ads, and offers an optional one-time purchase to remove ads permanently.

🔒 Data We Do NOT Collect

We want to be crystal clear about what this app does not do:

Names, emails, or personal info Not collected
User accounts or logins Not collected
Location data Not collected
Contacts, photos, or files Not collected
Camera or microphone access Not used
Analytics or crash reporting Not integrated
Player names entered in the app Never stored or transmitted

About Player Names

The names you enter in the app exist only in temporary memory (React state) while the app is open. They are never saved to your device's storage, never transmitted over the internet, and are completely erased when you close the app or reset the game. We have zero access to these names.

📋 Data That Is Handled

The app itself does not directly collect any personal data. However, two third-party services integrated into the app may process limited, non-personal data as part of their functionality:

1. Google AdMob — Advertising

The app displays interstitial ads between screen transitions (only after you've seen a spin result, never during gameplay). Google AdMob, which serves these ads, may collect your device's Advertising ID — an anonymous, resettable identifier used to serve and personalize ads. This is handled entirely by Google's SDK; we do not access, store, or process this identifier ourselves.

2. RevenueCat — In-App Purchases

If you choose to purchase the "Remove Ads" option, the transaction is processed through Google Play and validated by RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives an anonymous purchase token from Google Play to verify your purchase — this contains no personal information. Your purchase status (ad-free or not) is managed by RevenueCat so it persists across reinstalls.

📊 Data Summary

Data collected by the app's own code None
Advertising ID (via AdMob SDK) Processed by Google
Purchase tokens (via RevenueCat) Anonymous, no personal data
Data stored on your device by the app None
Data sold to third parties Never
Data shared for advertising AdMob only (Advertising ID)
Data encrypted in transit Yes — HTTPS/TLS

📺 Advertising

The app shows interstitial (full-screen) ads between screens — specifically, only when you navigate away from a spin result. Ads are never shown during the spin, before the spin, or on the home screen.

To keep the experience non-intrusive, the app limits ads to a maximum of 1–3 per session, and not every screen transition triggers an ad. You can permanently remove all ads with a one-time in-app purchase.

⚙️ Your Choices

🛡️ Data Security

All network communication between the app and third-party services (Google AdMob and RevenueCat) is encrypted using industry-standard HTTPS/TLS protocols. The app itself does not store any data on your device — there is no local database, no files written, and no cache created by our code.

👦 Children's Privacy

Receipt Roulette is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. The app does not require registration or any personal data input. If you believe a child under 13 has somehow provided personal information through a third-party service while using this app, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

📱 App Permissions

The app requests only the minimum permissions required:

The app does not request access to your camera, microphone, location, contacts, storage, or any other sensitive permission. The only hardware accessed is the haptic motor (vibration) for the wheel spin feedback, which requires no permission on Android.

📝 Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page and publish the revised policy at this same URL. We encourage you to review this page periodically. For material changes that significantly affect how data is handled, we will provide notice through an app update.
